2018 REPORT TO OUR COMMUNITY

The “N” in our logo signifies a legacy of compassionate care and service that began with our namesake, The Rev. John N. Norton, in 1886. It’s why each year more than 600,000 people look for the N when they need health care services. It’s the reason more than 15,000 individuals choose to grow their careers at Norton Healthcare. It’s also why our community calls on us for support. In 2018, we provided more than $165 million in community benefit through charity care, educational programs, public service and support for other organizations.

More than 130 years after our founding, Norton Healthcare remains committed to caring for the health of our growing community. Through investments such as a $125 million renovation and expansion of Norton Audubon Hospital, we expanded access to care and added needed services. We raised funds through events including Bike to Beat Cancer and the Festival of Trees & Lights to support important initiatives that improve the health of our community. At Unity Jam, we provided children and their families with access to health resources at a fun back-to-school family event that included free backpacks filled with school supplies.

This report highlights these and many additional ways Norton Healthcare is committed to Greater Louisville.

You’ll also discover how we are making it easier to receive care, while remaining focused on safety and quality.

Our ability to serve our patients and community would not be possible without our dedicated providers and team members, as well as the support of our volunteers and donors through the Children’s Hospital Foundation and Norton Healthcare Foundation.

Thank you for viewing Norton Healthcare’s annual Report to Our Community. We are grateful to you for choosing to look for the N.
