Care is a click away

Over 67,000 people enrolled in MyNortonChart in 2017 with a 90 percent patient engagement rate. MyNortonChart makes it easier for patients to keep up with their families’ health. Read how one young family used it to manage a health crisis.

First in the area

Norton Healthcare became the first health system in Greater Louisville to offer routine colonoscopy screenings on Saturdays. Appointments are available twice a month at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Program only one of its kind in Kentucky

In partnership with the University of Louisville, Norton Healthcare created Norton Children’s Cancer Institute. The facility opened Kentucky’s only Adolescent and Young Adult Transition Program and transition clinic to address the unique care needs of teens and younger adults.

Providing advanced care for women’s health

Norton Hospital and Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital were named American College of Radiology Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence, offering state-of-the-art technology that supports women’s breast health.

Celebrating 125 years of service

Norton Children’s Hospital celebrated its 125th birthday, which included an exhibit at the Frazier History Museum.

Growing to meet your needs

Construction began on Norton Cancer Institute – Brownsboro, a state-of-the-art facility that will allow a variety of services to be scheduled in one location, reducing wait times between appointments and helping patients and families better manage their plan of care.

LGBTQ Care

Leader in LGBTQ care

We were named a Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Our hospital system scored a perfect 100.

Supporting our working families

Norton Healthcare now offers employees up to four weeks of 100 percent paid parental leave. The new policy includes birth mothers and fathers, and adoptive parents, regardless of sexual orientation.

Powered by Synergy, Norton Healthcare’s African American Employee Resource Group, Norton Healthcare hosted the first-ever Unity Jam in the West End. The event provided children with important health services as well as backpacks filled with school supplies just in time for a new school year.

Partnership aimed at creating a healthier commonwealth

Norton Healthcare and the Kentucky Primary Care Association have announced a collaboration agreement to help advance the services available to residents in the commonwealth. Among the goals of the partnership is improved coordination and continuity of care, including access.

Named a Workplace of the Year

The award given by Advisory Board, our safety and engagement survey provider, recognizes our commitment to creating a best-in-class work environment for our employees, which contributes to a positive patient experience.

Zero Heroes

Zero Heroes provide quality care

We implemented systemwide patient safety training. More than 10,000 employees and independent providers are now “Zero Heroes” after completing “Reaching for Zero” patient safety training.

Top rankings

Our adult-service facilities were ranked No. 1 in the Louisville area and No. 4 in Kentucky in the 2017 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings.

New location to open in West End

We announced plans to open a medical home serving adults and children in the new West End Louisville YMCA located at Broadway and 18th Street. The location is scheduled to open in October 2019.

Norton Healthcare received the Americana World Community Center’s Compassion-at-Work Award.

Employee creates great human interactions

Guy Harvey, an environmental services employee at Norton Children’s Hospital, created special moments for patients. Guy was named a Commitment to Compassion honoree. The award, designed to spotlight the most compassionate caregivers in our community, is presented annually to seven health care workers in Louisville Metro.

Two facilities receive important designation

Norton Audubon Hospital and Norton Hospital both received American College of Cardiology Atrial Fibrillation with Electrophysiology Services accreditation.

Norton Healthcare was No. 6 on the list of Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America for 2017, as ranked by Healthiest Employers, a national leader in employee health analytics, best practices and benchmark data. A well work culture supports a better healing environment.

Bringing care to you

The Norton Healthcare Prevention & Wellness team screened 3,710 people in 2017. This included 8,431 blood pressure, blood sugar and BMI screenings and about 2,550 mammograms.

Sports neurology and concussion center opens

The center, located on the Norton Healthcare – St. Matthews campus, is the first of its kind in Kentucky. It is staffed by Tad D. Seifert, M.D., neurologist and director of Norton Healthcare’s Sports Concussion Program, along with Laura M. Yeager, APRN.

Norton Medical Group ranks among largest nationwide

With more than 950 employed medical providers and nearly 3,000 employees providing primary and specialty care at more than 250 locations throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, Norton Medical Group ranks among the largest employed medical groups nationwide.

Norton Healthcare Institute for Nursing earned designation as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education for 2017 to 2022 from the National League for Nursing.
